This is the privacy and cookie notice of SIA “Helmand Baltics” website www.helmand.lv. It explains how SIA “Helmand Baltics” processes personal data obtained in our online shop www.helmand.lv (hereinafter – the online shop). We request personal data if customers contact us offline, for example, when requesting information. This notice also describes the use of cookies used in the online shop.
1. DEFINITIONS
In this SIA “Helmand Baltics” privacy and cookie notice, the following terms are used:
Online shop: online shop www.helmand.lv
Communication: use of the online shop functions, for example, wish list, checkout, newsletter sign-up, my account and chat.
Online shop visitor: a person who visits the online shop for the first time and does not contact the online shop.
Online shop customer: a person who contacts the online shop.
Account: a customer account created in the online shop for placing orders.

2. SECURITY OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
SIA “Helmand Baltics” respects the privacy of its customers, business relationships and online shop users. All obtained personal data is protected and processed in compliance with confidentiality.
3. OBTAINING AND USING PERSONAL DATA
3.1 ONLINE SHOP VISITOR
To improve the helmand.lv online shop visit experience, SIA “Helmand Baltics” obtains information about your personal data and online shop browsing methods, and also learns whether you entered the online shop through one of our advertising partners. SIA “Helmand Baltics” obtains, for example, the following data:
country;
viewed products;
IP address;
the way you entered the online shop;
the place where you left the online shop;
the device you used when visiting our online shop.
The above information, among other things, will be used to better understand online shop visitors.
3.2 ONLINE SHOP CUSTOMER
For online shop customers, we obtain the same information as for online shop visitors, supplemented by the data provided to us by the customer, for example:
products in the wish list;
ordered products;
contact information.
3.2.1 CUSTOMER ACCOUNT
To place orders in the online shop, you need to create an account by registering, or place an order without registering as a guest; however, your data is required so that the courier can contact you and deliver the product.
To create an account, you must provide the following (personal) data:
first name, last name;
e-mail address;
password.
The above data is used for the following purposes:
to create and maintain your account;
to prevent fraud, malicious or inappropriate use of your account;
to show your purchased products;
to resolve complaints and retain correspondence regarding orders placed in the online shop from third parties.
Data is stored at least as long as you have an active Helmand.lv user account.
3.2.2 ORDERS
3.2.2.1 PLACING AN ORDER – DELIVERY ADDRESS
You can purchase products in the online shop using your account. When placing an order, you will have to provide additional information to the information provided during the account creation process, which is related to the delivery address:
name;
e-mail address;
delivery address
phone number;
company name (if applicable);
VAT payer number (if applicable);
CoC (Chamber of Commerce) number (if applicable).
The above data and your account information, among other things, will also be used for the following purposes:
to inform about the status of the placed order
to fulfill order/agreement, delivery and after-sales obligations;
to prepare an invoice;
to improve our service;
to resolve questions and complaints;
to personalize marketing activities;
to place orders on behalf of our company.
3.2.2.2 PLACING AN ORDER – BILLING ADDRESS
After you have entered information related to the delivery address, we will ask you to provide information about the billing address:
company name (if applicable);
name;
billing address;
phone number;
payment method.
This information, among other things, will be used to:
indicate it on the invoice;
contact you regarding order fulfillment, invoicing or delivery;
enable us to receive payment and speed up the checkout process;
prevent fraud and hacking;
3.2.2.3 PLACING AN ORDER –STANDARD PAYMENT METHOD – Bank transfer
In order for SIA “Helmand Baltics” to prepare a prepayment invoice, the following information is obtained:
e-mail address;
company name (if applicable);
name;
billing address;
delivery address;
phone number;
order value;
IP address;
order number;
device;
payment method.
This information, among other things, is used to:
send an e-mail notification about the payment;
assess the risk of fraud;
forward the order number by e-mail in case of payment or order cancellation;
forward the order number and payment method by e-mail so that, upon receiving the respective type of payment, it can be confirmed.
In this way, we can provide a higher-quality service if questions arise about payment, cancellation or refund. This helps reduce the volume of payment errors, ensuring a more pleasant shopping experience.
3.2.2.4 PLACING AN ORDER WITH LEASING
By choosing the payment method “ESTO instalments”, “ESTO 3”, “ESTO pay later”, you agree that we obtain the following (personal) data, which is transferred to
ESTO LV AS reg. no. 40103050993 for creditworthiness assessment and drafting of the credit agreement.
contact information;
personal identification number
employer name and period worked
salary amount
e-mail address;
IP address;
phone number;
order-related information (for example, delivery information, billing address, number of products, product number, customer group, payment method, invoice amount and VAT %).
The above information and your account information are used by SIA “Helmand Baltics”, among other things, for the following purposes:
settlement of the purchase in the account;
identity and creditworthiness verification, which will be performed by the credit institution (Joint Stock Company ESTO LV”)
Your personal data is processed by Joint Stock Company ESTO LV” in accordance with the applicable confidentiality policy and privacy terms, which can be found on the ESTO.LV website :

3.2.3 WISH LIST
In our online shop you can create a wish list. By adding products to the wish list, they will be stored for 30 days after placing the order.
Regardless of whether you have registered or not, we obtain, among other things, the following information:
IP address;
browsing habits.
If you add products to your wish list while you are registered, you will always be able to find them in your account wish list.
This information is obtained for marketing activities so that SIA “Helmand Baltics” can remember your wish list when you return to the helmand.lv online shop.
3.2.4 REVIEWS
3.2.4.1 PRODUCT REVIEWS
Using your account, you can leave a review of products in the online shop. You can write a review only for products you have purchased. To link the product, the relevant review and the correct e-mail address, when submitting a review you will have to provide the following information:
name;
e-mail address;
product;
order number.
This information is used to add reviews in the online shop and to contact the customer in case of complaints.
3.2.4.2 REVIEWS USING OTHER CHANNELS
You can leave reviews about our website www.helmand.lv using price comparison pages where SIA “Helmand Baltics” products and prices are displayed. To write a review, the following information will be requested:
e-mail address;
name.
This information is obtained to contact the buyer and resolve possible issues.

3.2.5 CUSTOMER SERVICE
If you have questions or complaints about a product purchased in the online shop or about the service provided by SIA “ Helmand Baltics", you can call us, write an e-mail or contact us via chat. Our contact information is available in the online shop. You can also use the complaint form available in our online shop. By using the online complaint form, we will request (at least) the following information:
first and last name;
e-mail address;
phone number;
order number (not mandatory/ if applicable);
description of the complaint.
When using chat, only your first name, last name, e-mail address and the topic of the conversation will be requested.
The above information will be used in the process of reviewing your complaint
3.3 PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
3.3.1 PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE THE EU
We cooperate with third parties such as Google and Facebook. This means that data may be stored on servers located outside Europe, where there is different legislation regarding the processing of personal data. These third parties comply with the Privacy Shield principles established in the US Department of Commerce Privacy Shield program. Companies that comply with these principles and the program are considered adequate under European personal data regulations.
3.3.2 DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO THIRD PARTIES
SIA “Helmand Baltics” may transfer your personal data to third parties for the following purposes:
if you have consented to such transfer of data;
to fulfill the contract concluded with you;
to deliver products purchased from another seller(s).
to enable SIA “Helmand Baltics” to improve products and the service provided by its cooperation partners;
if required by legislation
to prevent or combat fraud;
3.3.3 RETENTION PERIOD
SIA “Helmand Baltics” will not store your data longer than necessary to achieve the specified purposes. In exceptional cases, data is stored longer to fulfill legal obligations (for example, the obligation to retain data). The retention period depends on the type of data and the purposes for which it is processed. Therefore, the retention period may differ depending on the purpose.
3.3.4 SECURITY
SIA “Helmand Baltics” will take measures to adequately protect your personal data. To ensure this, we use means appropriate to our activities, the size and type of the company, and the type of data processed. Our activities prevent unauthorized access to data, its alteration, disclosure or loss.
We expect you to take care of your personal data by not disclosing your registration information (e-mail address and password). Never give your registration information to anyone and store it appropriately.
3.3.5 ACCESS TO DATA AND ITS CORRECTION
You have the right to access your data at any time and, if necessary, change it by logging into your account.
If you do not have an account, you can request information about your personal data available to SIA “Helmand Baltics”. If this data is not accurate, you can request that SIA “Helmand Baltics” replace it. Such access requests can be sent by e-mail or by using the complaint form that is sent to our customer service center.
3.3.6 RIGHT TO OBJECT
You may object to the use of your personal data free of charge. Objections regarding the use of your data can be sent to our customer service center by e-mail or by post. You will receive a response from SIA “Helmand Baltics” within four weeks.
If you do not allow your data to be used for direct marketing activities, SIA “Helmand Baltics” will stop using your data for these purposes. You will no longer receive commercial e-mails from SIA “Helmand Baltics”, such as newsletters.
3.3.7 THIRD-PARTY PRIVACY AND COOKIE NOTICES
This privacy and cookie notice does not apply to third-party online shops that are linked to the online shop. It also does not apply to data processing carried out by companies such as Google. You can change settings in your Google account after reviewing Google’s privacy policy.
SIA “Helmand Baltics” is not responsible for the manner in which third parties and companies process your (personal) data. SIA “Helmand Baltics” always recommends carefully reviewing the privacy and cookie notices of the respective online shops and companies.
4. USE OF COOKIES
4.1 WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Like many other online shops, the helmand.lv online shop uses cookies and other similar files and technologies, for example, “web beacons” (hereinafter – cookies).
A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your browser together with an online shop page and then stored on your computer hard drive, tablet or phone.
Cookies are used, for example, to store passwords and personal settings so that when you visit the online shop again, you do not have to enter data each time.
Below we explain how the online shop uses cookies, what the source of cookies is and why they are used. For the effectiveness of our and third-party advertisements, the following data is obtained:

how the customer arrived at the online shop.
Below it is described how it is possible not to accept or to delete cookies.
4.1.1 FUNCTIONAL COOKIES
Helmand.lv uses cookies, for example Google Analytics, to remember your online shop visit settings and entered data. These cookies make it easier to use our online shop, because you do not need to re-enter data at each visit.
Also, SIA “ Helmand Baltics” (helmand.lv) may use cookies that are necessary to ensure flawless operation of the online shop also when you visit it from your mobile phone or tablet.
4.1.2 ANALYTICAL COOKIES
The online shop uses cookies to track the pages you visit. This information and other information is, among other things, collected by website analytics service providers, such as Aol (Adserver), Alexa, Crazy Egg, Google Analytics, Pingdom, Hotjar and Piwik.
These website analytics service providers use cookies to analyze how users use the online shop. Cookies are used to store information about visitors, for example, the time of visiting the online shop, information on whether the user has visited the online shop before, information about the online shop through which the user arrived on the page, etc.
4.1.3 SOCIAL MEDIA COOKIES
In the online shop you can use social media buttons, for example, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+.
When you visit an online shop page that contains social media buttons, your browser connects to the respective social media provider. This service provider obtains information about your IP address and the online shop pages you have visited.
If you are logged in to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest or Google+ during your visit to the online shop, your visit may be linked to your social media profile. For example, if you click the Facebook “like” symbol, the browser will send the respective information to the service provider and store it there.

4.2 ENABLING AND DISABLING COOKIES
You can accept or reject cookies by adjusting your browser settings. Since each browser is different, to set cookie settings, SIA “Helmand Baltics” refers to your browser information page or your phone user manual.
However, if cookies are completely disabled, you may not be able to use all online shop functions. If you use different computers in different locations, check whether your cookie settings are set in all browsers.
