Ceresit CT 84 polyurethane adhesive is used for securing foam polystyrene sheets in complex Ceresit Ceretherm systems for external wall insulation (ETICS). Approximately 2 hours after application, the foam polystyrene sheets can be leveled and anchored, and then the reinforced layer can be applied using Ceresit CT 85, CT 87. Polyurethane adhesive CT 84 is also used for securing materials such as EPS and XPS foam polystyrene and rigid mineral wool, on surfaces such as wood, OSB boards, glass, bitumen, ceramic bricks, concrete, coated and galvanized sheet plates, dry cellular concrete and after water exposure, dry masonry, as well as for layering foam polystyrene and mineral wool sheets at normal and low temperatures, also in insulation systems.

Features:

  • Yield 10 m² - 100% more than traditional cement adhesives and 15% greater adhesion strength than traditional cement adhesives
  • Anchoring after about 2 h - speeds up insulation work. Using CT 84 and the Ceresit Ceretherm Express system, insulation work can be completed up to 5 days faster
  • Perfectly suited for the 'insulation on insulation' system - 1 m² of foam polystyrene sheets can be secured with 100 g of CT 84 adhesive, instead of 5 kg as is the case with cement adhesives
  • Improved insulation properties - unlike traditional cement adhesives, CT 84 has similar insulation properties to foam polystyrene or wool
  • High uniformity of the adhesive, thanks to the metal beads in the adhesive composition that prevent the formation of large air bubbles

Usage:

Shake the container vigorously for several seconds, remove the valve cap and screw the gun onto the container, holding it with the valve upwards. The gun's valve must be screwed tight. After screwing the container onto the gun, the valve can be opened and the adhesive dispensed by pressing the gun's trigger. Before securing EPS, the starter strips must be fixed. CT 84 should be applied with the gun, holding the container upwards and maintaining a distance between the gun and the plate, which allows for proper adhesive application.

When securing plates in the additional insulation system with CT 84, the adhesive should be applied around the perimeter of the plate approximately 2 cm from the edge and in one strip across the center of the plate, parallel to the longer edges. When gluing insulation plate bases in insulation, apply CT 84 in five vertical strips parallel to the shorter edges of the plate, approximately 2 cm from the edge.

Without delay, press the plate against the wall and, gently pressing with the long screed, hold it against the wall. The surface smoothness of EPS plates can be adjusted within 20 minutes of securing, using the long screed.
